    [office_head_description] => Dr. M. Khairul Hossain joined the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission as its Chairman on 15 May, 2011. After completion of his first three years tenure, the Government appointed him as the Chairman of the Commission for second tenure further for four years, as per Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (Amendment) Act, 2012, Later, the Government extended his tenure for further two years and he has been currently working as the Chairman of the Commission.

খন্দকার রাশেদ মাকসুদ আর্থিক খাতের একজন প্রসিদ্ধ বিশেষজ্ঞ, তিনি ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের আইবিএ হতে এমবিএ ডিগ্রী অর্জন করেন এবং ১৯৯২ সালে আমেরিকান এক্সপ্রেস ব্যাংকের ম্যানেজমেন্ট ট্রেইনী হিসেবে তার এই সম্মানজনক ক্যারিয়ারের সূচনা করেন।

 

বাংলাদেশ সিকিউরিটিজ এ্যান্ড এক্সচেঞ্জ কমিশনের চেয়ারম্যান হিসেবে নিয়োগের পূর্বে তিনি ওয়ার্ল্ড ব্যাংকের, ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ফিন্যান্স কার্পোশেনের স্ট্রাটেজি এন্ড বিজনেস ডেভলপমেন্ট এর উপদেষ্টা হিসেবে নিয়োজিত ছিলেন। আর্থিক প্রতিষ্ঠান খাতে তার ক্যারিয়ারের বিস্তৃতি ৩২ বছরেরও বেশি; যেখানে তিনি নেতৃস্থানীয় বিভিন্ন প্রতিষ্ঠানে কেন্দ্রীয় ভূমিকা পালন করেন।

 

জনাব রাশেদ স্টান্ডার্ড বাংক লি: ও এনআরবি কমার্শিয়াল বাংকের ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালকের দায়িত্ব এবং সিটি ব্যাংক এন.এ বাংলাদেশ-এ সিটি কান্ট্রি অফিসার হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন, সিটি ব্যাংকে তিনি কার্পোরেট ব্যাংকিং গ্রুপ এবং আর্থিক প্রতিষ্ঠান বাংলাদেশ দলে সফলতার সাথে নেতৃত্ব দিয়েছিলেন পরবর্তীতে তিনি গ্লোবাল ট্রান্সএকশনের গ্লোবাল রেসপনসিবিলিটিজ হিসেবে গ্লোবাল ট্রান্সএকশনের প্রধান ও পরিচালক এর দায়িত্ব গ্রহণ করেছিলেন। তার সততা এবং সম্মোহনী নেতৃত্ব তাকে এনে দিয়েছিলো ইন্দোনেশিয়ার জাকার্তা অফিসের ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালকের মতো পদে দায়িত্ব পালনের মত বিশাল সফলতা।

 

জনাব রাশেদ তার এই সুবিস্তৃত ব্যাংকিং ক্যারিয়ারে আমেরিকান চেম্বার অব কমার্স এবং ফরেন ইনভেস্টরস চেম্বার অব কমার্স ইন্ডাস্ট্রি বাংলাদেশ এর নির্বাহী কমিটির সদস্য হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। তাছাড়াও তিনি আমেরিকার মিডাস ফিন্যান্স লি: এবং ব্লাকস্টোনের পরিচালনা পর্ষদের উপদেষ্টাও ছিলেন। আসন্ন বছরগুলোতে বিসেক তাঁর পরিচালিত নেতৃত্ব এবং কৌশলগত দূরদর্শিতার মাধ্যমে সুবিশাল অর্জনের প্রত্যাশা রাখে।

Khondoker Rashed Maqsood is a distinguished financial sector expert. He holds an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, and began his illustrious career in 1992 as a Management Trainee at American Express Bank.



Before his appointment as the Chairman of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), Mr. Rashed served as an Advisor for Strategy & Business Development at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), World Bank group in Bangladesh. His career spans over 32 years in the financial industry, where he held pivotal roles in leading financial institutions.



Mr. Rashed served Standard Bank Ltd and NRB Commercial Bank as the Managing Director and Citibank N.A. Bangladesh as Citi Country Officer. At Citibank, he successfully led the Corporate Banking Group and Financial Institutions Group in Bangladesh, and later took on global responsibilities as Director and Head of Global Transactions. His integrity, leadership, and charismatic approach earned him the role of Managing Director of Citibank's Jakarta office in Indonesia.



In addition to his extensive banking career, Mr. Rashed carried out as an Executive Committee member of AMCHAM in Bangladesh and the Foreign Investors’ Chamber of Commerce Industry (FICCI). He was also an Advisor to the Board of Directors at MIDAS Finance Limited and Blackstone, USA. His leadership and strategic vision are well expected to guide BSEC towards greater achievements in the coming years.
